Appointments & Fee

I see clients only by appointment. To ask questions and/or to schedule an appointment you can reach me by calling 206.769.6584. You can leave a message at any time (24 hours). During our initial phone call, I will ask you a few details about what is bringing you to counseling to be sure that my training and experience match your needs.

Complimentary First Session

After a brief phone call to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, I offer a no-charge 50 minute first session for prospective clients; I find this to be the best way to mutually determine whether working together will be a good fit. This session is time for you to evaluate whether you’d like to work with me, and for me to ascertain how I can be of help to you.

I am providing both telehealth and in-person sessions at this time and comply with WA State and King County rules and/or recommendations regarding safety during the COVID pandemic, which includes mask wearing for in-person session. If we arrange a first consultation session, I will explain how you wlll receive necessary paperwork and our process in returning necessary signed documents.

Below are forms you will need to read before the start of your therapy with me and I can provide you with paper versions at our first session or you can download them in advance in the below pdf formats. Reading these in advance allows more time during our first session to address any questions or concerns you may have about the content of these forms.

For current clients, I will notify you of any revised versions of the Disclosure Statement and Notice of Privacy Practices and provide you a paper version at our next session or you can choose to read them here online/download them yourself.

Fee

My fee is $160 per individual counseling session, usually 53-60 minutes in length. Assessment session is $220. You are ultimately responsible for payment of all treatment fees and other costs.  If you have health insurance and/or a third party payer, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health treatment. You may also simply self-pay and not submit counseling fees for reimbursement; if this is the case I will provide you a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to you as in accordance with the new No Suprisess Act as of 1/1/22.

Insurance: For those insurance panels on which I am an in-network provider, I ask that you verify your benefits and then I will bill your insurance directly.I am usually listed as Shira B. Wilson on an insurance panel (or Shira Wilson/Seattle Wellness Counseling). If I am not an in-network provider with your insurance, I would then be considered out-of-network; sometimes I am able to bill your insurance company directly as out-of-network, and if not, I will provide you with the necessary forms and whatever assistance I can in helping you receive the benefits to which you may be entitled. You may choose, of course, to pay directly and not seek in-network or out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

I am an in-network Preferred Provider for the following insurance payors :

Regence Blue Shield
Uniform Medical Plan
Bridgspan
Lifewise
Realvalue Provider Network
First Choice Health Network
Kaiser Permanente PPO plan (under First Choice Network)
Premera Blue Cross

If your plan is not listed here, still check your insurance provider list; I might be in-network and not have your insurance provider listed here (e.g. Blue Cross Blue Shield from another state in the Blue Exchange network).

Payment is due at the time of our session (for in-network, for example, that would be any co-pay due). Payment accepted in: check, cash, VISA, Mastercard, American Express or Discover cards, health savings and flexible spending account cards.
