: Seattle Wellness Counseling | Shira Wilson-Gross, MA, LMHC

Welcome

I am a Seattle-area Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a focus in mindfulness-based psychotherapy.  My counseling style is a holistic one with a focus on improving quality of life, finding a greater comfort with uncertainty and expanding self awareness. I believe that if we expand our comfort in managing difficult emotions--such as anxiety, anger, shame and sadness-- in healthy ways, we can move past obstacles, such as fear and self-criticism, and find greater happiness and well-being.

I focus my practice primarily counseling individuals living with:

Depression and Mood Disorders
Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders
Medical conditions, especially chronic "invisible" medical illness
Stress and looking for healthy ways to cope and manage stress
Chronic pain
Trauma-related disorders
Emotional Loneliness/Issues of Over-Control

I offer a sympathetic, compassionate place for grieving, for learning new ways to cope and connect with yourself, your values and goals and connect with others.

My treatment approach is grounded in professional training as well as personal experience with serious chronic physical illness.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment. I am providing a hybrid of telehealth and in-person sessions. I see clients in-person in the North East area of Seattle, Washington, in Hawthorne Hills, located close to Children's Hospital and University Village.
